– Request for Cooperation in Observing Gate Closing Times and Earlier/Stricter Baggage Drop Cut-off Times for Select Airlines –

Seven airlines operating at Haneda Airport are taking steps to ensure smooth passenger boarding and improve on-time performance. These efforts are based on the administrative notice from the Civil Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (dated March 19, 2026) and the industry-wide guidelines regarding carry-on baggage established by The Scheduled Airlines Association of Japan (SAAJ) (*1).
As part of an industry-wide initiative (*2) to encourage compliance with designated gate closing times set by each airline and to continuously review various operational cut-off times, the seven airlines will progressively update baggage drop cut-off times effective September 1, as outlined below.

Specific cut-off times are designated prior to departure, including check-in, baggage drop, security checkpoint clearance, and boarding. Passengers arriving after these designated cut-off times will not be able to complete their procedures.
Please note that the scheduled departure time is the time when the aircraft begins to move. Passengers who arrive after the gate closing time will, as a general rule, not be permitted to board. Cut-off times vary by airline; passengers are kindly requested to check each airline’s official website in advance.
Beginning September 1, select airlines operating domestic departure flights from Haneda Airport will update their baggage drop cut-off times or operational procedures. Passengers are kindly asked to check their airline’s applicable cut-off times and arrive with sufficient time to drop off their baggage.
(Applicable only to departing domestic flights from Haneda Airport)
